Chris Asks:

I’m trying to find out a title of a song by a group from the 1980’s .The group’s name is Tic Toc I believe. I also think they were a one hit wonder. Could you help? Give me some titles or album names. I last heard them on the Lost 80’s Lunch on 104.5 Chum Fm.

Alan answers:

Tic Toc was a four-piece Canadian act originally known as The Plan. They had a hit entitled “Twenty Questions” in late 1983. I have a beat-up piece of vinyl in my collection entitled Where the Picnic Was (Many Records), which, as far as I know, was their only album. There was, however, a series of “Twenty Questions” remixes issued together by Many (catalogue number MN 516) in Italy (!!!) sometime in 1984. But once again, here’s a piece of Canadian musical history which never made the transition to CD. Piece of trivia: Drummer Tevan Kaplan and keyboardist Ray Borg are singing back-up on Rough Trade’s “Shakin’ the Foundations.”
