Brandon Asks:
There’s this Australian band called Taxiride that I really like and I was able to find one of their CDs, Imaginate, on your site. But what about any others? There’s an album called Garage Mahal that I’d really like to get as well. And are there any newer ones that I maybe don’t know about? Thanks!
Alan answers:
Taxiride was a boy-band-ish construction (although that’s a bit of an unfair characterization) that came together in about 1998. For those not familiar with their music, Taxiride was a breezy rock-influenced pop band with an approach not unlike early examples of Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind.
The group has released a total of five albums so far, the most recent being Electrophobia in 2006. Unfortunately, outside of Get Set (released on WEA International 2000), their second record, none of them have released wide international distribution, including Garage Mahal (2002). The one other Taxiride release is Axiomatic (MGM, 2005).
Now here’s the good news: the band is still together and all of their albums are still available. This is definitely a BGO wishlist item!
