Kelly Asks:
A few years ago Tony Danza performed on a late night show, (not sure which one). He performed an up tempo version of an old classic "That's All." To my amazement I really enjoyed it!! How can I get my hands on a copy?
Alan Answers:
Believe it or not, it is! You need to look for a 2002 CD entitled Tony Danza: House I Live In. It was issued through Sin-Drome Records and it still available.
Another Kelly Asks:
"I Only Have Eyes for You," performed by Timothy B Schmidt, is on a soundtrack for a movie starring Elizabeth Shue. The title has something to do with babysitting. I believe the Flamingos were the original band to perform it. I've searched for Timothy's version for some time now. Can you help me?
Alan Answers:
Elizabeth Shue starred in 1987"s Adventures in Babysitting, which is not the movie you want. Instead, you're looking for 1991's Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead which comes sans Shue but plus Christina Applegate. The good news is that Don't Tell features the Timothy B. Schmit [sic] version of "I Only Have Eyes You For." And yes, it's still in print from Warner.
Mike Asks:
Back in the early 90s, I saw the Watchmen put on a tremendous show. I got to hear all of my faves, but the pleasant surprise was a stunning version of "Admiral of the Sea." I heard it once, and it still haunts me. Was it ever recorded? I would love to hear it again.
Alan Answers:
I assume you're speaking of the Grant Hart/Nova Mobb cover, correct? Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any record of the Watchmen ever putting it down on tape anywhere.
