Mark Asks: A few years back somebody did a cover of The High Numbers / The Who “Zoot Suit”. I recall it might have been either The Stone Temple Pilots or Pearl Jam but recorded under another name. I can’t find reference to it anywhere. All I remember is that it was on some kind of a benefit album at the time. Hope you can help. Rob Asks: In the late 70s/early 80s there was a British band named City Boy. They had a minor NA hit with "5.7.0.5". As they are somewhat obscure, almost none of it is available on-line. Alan Answers: I know the band well! I remember hearing The Day the Earth Caught Fire on the radio one day in 1979 while I was still in high school. Read More... Manny Asks: Are full episodes of The Ongoing History of New Music (not just the short clips) available in podcast format anywhere? If not, are there any plans to make them available? Alan Answers: I wish! It’s currently illegal to distribute major label music in podcasts. Read More...
