I once heard there was some strange connection between Stompin' Tom Connors and the new wave group DEVO
Alan answers:
Um, can you give me any kind of a hint? There's nothing on Tom's official website (www.stompintom.com) that offers any clues. Maybe we should just email Tom directly: info@stompintom.com

Lisa Asks:
I am trying to find the name and whereabouts of a great compilation album which is at least 10 years old. It is a collection of covers - Billy Bragg doing "When Will I see You Again", Blur covering "Maggie Mae" Tears for Fears covers a Bowie song. It's a great album. Please help me find it.
Alan answers:
You're most likely thinking of a compilation called Ruby Trax, a three-disc compilation released by The NME, the British music magazine, in November 1992 on the Forty Records label. The complete track listing is below. Sounds like a great one for your BGO wish list!
DISC ONE:
THE WONDER STUFF: Coz I Luv You
BILLY BRAGG: When Will I See You Again?
THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN: Little Red Rooster
THE MISSION: Atomic
THE FATIMA MANSIONS: (Everything I Do) I Do It For You
ST ETIENNE: Stranger In Paradise
THE WEDDING PRESENT: Cumberland Gap
AZTEC CAMERA / ANDY FAIRWEATHER-LOW: (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice
DANNII MINOGUE: Show You The Way To Go
WELFARE HEROINE: Where Do You Go To My Lovely?
THE BLUE AEROPLANES: Bad Moon Rising
SENSELESS THINGS: Apache
TEENAGE FANCLUB: Mr Tambourine Man

Back in the 80's, CFNY, 102.1 FM played a song named "Sleeping" by Dwight Twilley that I fell in love with. I bought the album and still have it in my collection. Whatever happened to the band?
Alan answers:
Dwight Twilley (and later the Dwight Twilley Band) specialized in a more rugged form of Beatle-esque pop. Although he got off to a good start in the middle 70s with a Top 20 hit ("I'm on Fire") in 1975, he soon settled into cult-dom,but not before making friends with Tom Petty and contributing vocals to some of his records. Following the lymphoma death of his partner, Phil Seymour in 1993, Twilley went solo and continues to release records. His most recent was a 2005 studio album called 47 Moons on the DMI label. By the way, "Sleeping" is from the Dwight Twilley band's 1977 album, Twilley Don't Mind. And yes, it's available on CD.
